Heavy Split Reins

Our Heavy Split reins, sometimes known as Cutting reins are made from quality Herman Oak harness right here in our workshop. Each rein is naturally weighted for balance, with all edges beveled and finished by hand to make for a pair of great feeling reins. These feature water loops and optional stainless scissor snaps, and either natural or brown edges.
We make these in a variety of lengths and widths. If you would like anything other than what you see here, we can help you out just ask! We also make these in a Double Stitched style.

These reins are made from only the highest quality solid hides, and so will start out a little stiff but don’t worry they soften in very nicely with use.
We are definitely also looking into making some care instructions to accompany these, however as we make such a wide range of gear it has been difficult to tailor advice to each item rather than a standard generic set of care instructions. In the meantime, if you have any questions at all with your gear, please feel free to ask as we’re always happy to chat or answer any questions!
